Who we are
Louie’s on the Trail is more than a place to shop — it’s a gathering space. With live music, trail traffic, winery visitors, and local families, the market has a lively, social feel rooted in Augusta’s charm.
We are building something long-term and intentional — and we want vendors who are excited to grow alongside us.
A Passion Project Rooted in Place
Louie’s on the Trail is a passion project for Karen and Mike Koehneman — a continuation of their commitment to art, agriculture, and community along the wine country corridor of the Katy Trail.
Three years ago, when they purchased the property, they saw more than open land overlooking the trail. They saw possibility — a place where creativity, local talent, and the natural beauty of Augusta could come together.
Since then, they have intentionally invested in art that celebrates the landscape and invites people to pause.
They commissioned the striking Sunflower Silos, created by artists Kim Alsop and Anne Molasky, which have quickly become a recognizable landmark along the corridor. Soon after, they added a powerful Steel Monarch Butterfly installation, created by Brian Watson and Ben Boyher perched on a rock bluff overlooking the Katy Trail — a symbol of movement, migration, and the quiet strength of nature.
These installations were never meant to stand alone.
They were the beginning of something bigger.
